My Designer Moment: College's Showcase at The India Fashion Summit 2012

People who follow Me on Twitter and Facebook know that I am a Fashion Design Student and have a Label called 'Shaily from Delhi' -by Shaily Khera . I have been talking about My College Fashion Show since April this year.. It was scheduled on June 15th , but later got postponed and then never happened .So when recently our College 'IIFT' participated in the India Fashion Summit, it was like a dream come true because this event was bigger and better than any College Fashion Show that has ever happened. And Cherry on the Cake was.. My designed Outfit was chosen to Walk the Ramp Twice.. The Faculty liked it so much *__*
The Garment I designed for the Show is inspired from my childhood memories of all the plays and cultural activities I participated in.. so you'll see coming together of a Oriental Manipuri Garment and an western Ball Gown.

I was working Backstage with the models so couldn't click much pics but I did capture a few shots in Green-Room and Backstage .

I thought I am some Pro Photographer and look what this pic turned out to be

Rite after the show , all the Student designers were called on the Ramp to accompany our College's Chairman , Mr. Lal.. and Me being Me.. PUSHED everyone aside , held Mansi's Hand and Walked till the Head-Ramp to take a bow :P

After the whole event was over Mansi and I joined the mob for the MAD Dancing Session . Celebrity Singer Bhuppi was performing his famous numbers and not even a single Firang (Foreigner) was seen sitting. Everyone is the Ball room was Dancing.. Except Out College Faculties.. they said its not correct for them to join students in this MADNESS.. so we made her pose for my camera( Look at the pic above) and then Like Beggars we stuffed ourselves with Food :P
Came back home with a Great Experience and Story to share.. Couldn't control my excitement so spent an hour tell Mom and Dad all about the Event and showing the all the pictures that were clicked though out the Day.. It was surely , One of the Most Memorable Days of My Life..and what made it more Special was the Feeling of Participating in the Summit along with some Eminent Indian Designers like Pam Mehta , Rosy Alluwalia , Amit Talwar , Sumit Sawhney ....(read my last post about the same event Here )

Officially 1 : Time to Thank..

(P.S.- This Post was written on 25th August .. but I am posting it now.. :p )

I don't know how to put so many emotions into one Blog Post.. But I am going to try my best..
The whole day passed like yet another Saturday of the week until now.. When I had to pen down this Post..

I still remember, Last year around the same time.. I was busy talking to my friend Parul Parmar telling her the name I decided for My Style Blog.. "Confessionz Of a Closet" and later sharing all the excitement with Nitika Mahajan and Aditie ..!! It was a BIG DEAL back then for me to make an account on Blogger and remember a Password.. Later clicking pictures then banner to editing.. From Clicking pictures from my Blackberry to now with a DSLR .. I have come a long way..

The Journey has been Exciting , Tough , Emotional , Enriching at the same time.. I am a "Tech Handicap" and Now I have, I don't know how many  accounts and each password is on my tips..

Downloading and Editing were Alien Concepts for Me.. Making a Banner was like another such Task.. And Today I got a Blog Banner as Blog's 1st Anniversary Gift from a very Sweet and Talented Girl Jas Sahota .. Look at the detailing she has put in.. from My statement Necklace to the watch I wear..This Banner has it All..

Talking of All.. All this while I have been waiting for my Blog to turn 1 and there is a reason for that.. I am an Air Sign..so for Me , to continue something for a period of time is Impossible.. This Blog has been a Self Test And I am Surprised to see Myself COMMITTED to this BLOG..
That's why I call it my Baby.. Like a Baby Gives Mother a New Life ,Teaches her all new about her own self.. Likewise this Blog has been that New Baby for Me.. I know a Lot Today,that I didn't know till Last Year , Not just about Myself .But Life aswell....

Past 1 year  was like a Roller coaster Ride.. I can't believe I am talking "Past 1 year'' right now :p
I met a lot of New People.. Bloggers, PRs , Readers.. And I am Fortunate enough to have few Good Relations that I am sure are for LIFE..

Highlights of Day 2: Rajasthan Fashion Week..

The Day 2 at Rajsthan Fashion Week was Colorful..

First Show of the Day, by Poonam Patel and Swati Modo was a huge success:

Rohit Verma was the showstopper for her opening show on the second day of Rajasthan Fashion Week.

·      This young designer fromVarodra showcased an Indo-western collection with big motifs  and a wide range of outfits ranging from semi stitched dresses, tunics , kurta, sarees ,chaniya-choli to bridal wear..and Swati Modo was the official shoe partner for the entire Fashion Week..

Among all the well know designers..there were few new names.. Hetal is one of them.. She is still a Fashion Design student in Kota, Rajasthan.. 

She is already making a mark in the Fashion industry with her entry in the prestigious, Rajasthan Fashion Week .. Her Collection was called, "Power of Shiva" so a lot of Rudraksha jewellery was seen and colors were earthy and eye-soothing ..

·       Designer Surbhi Shah had supermodel Jesse Randhawa stopping the show for her. The look Surbhi gave to Jesse was a very ethnic inspired by the royal Rajasthan. She was draped in a bright Rajasthani colourful Gota Patti lehenga.

 Surbhi Shah’s collection was a mixture of intricate Gotapatti work in an effort to revive the colourful Rajasthan. The word for the whole collection was "Beaututiful"..

  Ace Designer Pam Mehta showcased a ‘Floral Fiesta’, a collection wherein ‘Relaxed Couture comes to life. The collection was a amazingly vibrant, colourful embellishied with zari, resham and swarvoski. with predraped saris and sari gowns,it was  a very unique concept in itself. 

 The highlights of the collection were interesting head gears..

 The gorgeous Riya Sen was her showstopper for the designer. Pam draped Riya in a eight kali pre-stiched lehenga sari in turquoise and gold. She wanted to potray Riya as a contemporary bride.. and sure.. She looked like one..

 Sumit Dasgupta's collection was inspired by Chandragupta which potrayed the  ancient Maurya’s Era.

 Television's popular face.. Aamir Ali walked the ramp for him..to open the show..He came and left in a hush-hush and was unavailable for media byte..

Rohit and Abhishek did the closing show with their latest collection  ‘The Dance of Life’

 Rohit Kamra introduced a Vibrant summer collection with a new palette celebrating the different colors of Life. White represents eternity and dusty tones of Yellow Orange Green & Blue exude different moods one experiences. He designed a formal look of Bandhgalas, Achkans and Sherwanis coupled with Breeches, Patialas, Cowl and Harem pants for men. Androgyny comes into play with women carrying Jackets, Jodhpurs Long Skirts, representing their independent & intellectual persona, dancing to a new tune of Life. The show stopper for his show were Pankaj Singh, Ashok Maneria and Dikshant Yagnik from  Rajasthan Royals...........

When last Saturday I went to pick up the Winning Prize from "W for Woman Store "(see HERE if you don't know what I am talking about) , I thought of clicking few shots..

 BLACK not Color of the Season ..Bu  I don't care about it as long as I like it.. I am not a kind of person who would wear  anything that's "IN Fashion" . I follow my own Heart because I Dress for Myself and Not for anyone else.. I do incorporate new Trends in my style( only if I Like them).. But I don't go overboard and Follow them Blindly.. and I suggest this to all my readers that .. "Everything is not for everybody.. We all have different Body-types and Styles.. and Embrace what you have got"

I am " Gypsy at Heart ". . and I'd classify my style as " Boho Chic " and I never go overboard with New Trends .. I stick to my personal style  and play around with the trends .. That's how you never go wrong.. and here is what they said..

To Friendship..!! finally!! the courier arrived..Feeling not so Blue.. :D

This Blue Zara top i hv been waiting over a week is a gift from , now my gud friend Parul Parmar..!!  who was a not a gud friend initially *_^.. but how i love her now!! :-* the courier just came this afternoon.. n made my day.. which was dull due the chill in Delhi as I have been under the weather from last 2 days..!!
